Turtle watch at Nicholas Caye
A small overnight program on a private island inside the Sapodilla Cayes Marine Reserve, during hawksbill nesting season. Guests are supervised spotters: you help staff stay alert through the night and raise the alarm the moment a turtle comes ashore. Trained staff do everything else. Guests never handle turtles, nests, eggs or hatchlings, and never collect data.
- No more than 8 guests on the island at any time.
- The island runs under red light at night to protect nesting turtles and hatchlings.
- Alternating three-day and four-day trips.
- Days: turtle watch, lionfish hunting, reef surveys, beach cleanup and conservation education.

Lionfish dive trips
Dive and hunt lionfish with our crew and tour partners, including Sealand Expeditions. Certified divers only for hunting; snorkellers can come along and watch. Trips run out of Placencia and Independence.
